How can I limit the CPU usage when scans are running on Macs?

An old locked thread asks the same question.

Sophos processes are burdening even the strongest of Macs in our fleet. Our developers are substantially impacted during builds, and when launching applications, to the point where they are force-rebooting their machines due to the time-lost.

How do I adjust the max CPU Usage of ALL Sophos processes?

  • Hi ,

Thank you for reaching us. May we know the current version of the endpoint which is currently installed on those systems? Our latest release for Sophos Central Mac Endpoint 10.3.3 covers several areas for improvement, especially for performance. If the version of the endpoint was still on the later version I would suggest you update the endpoint. If You are already on the said version, you may run basic troubleshooting steps by following the steps listed in this KB Article to identify what component is causing the high utilization.
