Does 'Allowed Applications', under Global Settings, not apply to servers?

As the subject suggests, I was wondering if the allowed applications tab within global settings does not apply to servers? After reading documentation here: https://docs.sophos.com/central/Customer/help/en-us/central/Customer/concepts/AllowedApplications.html

I get the impression that the applications placed within this list do not apply to Servers. If that is the case, is there any effective way to place an application exclusions that takes effect on servers? Any help is appreciated.

  • Yes within your Server Protection from the left side of Central, you can go into the policies listed for application control that are specific to server and make your adjustments there.

This is assuming it does not apply to servers, but I have not tested this.
