Endpoint Protection for MacOS Big Sur Early Access Program

I received this message from do-not-reply@central.sophos.com on January 9th. Sophos Cloud: early access program will be closed in twenty-one days.

I have about 7 of our staff members that are in this early access program so they receive AV protection while running BigSur on their macbooks. Can you please confirm if this early access program will end January 31st or has this been extended through March 2021? If this does end in January, do these accounts get placed back into the general pool of other clients and will they still be protected at that time. If I move them from the program now, will they still be protected by the Sophos endpoint protection software.

The Early Access Program Endpoint Protection macOS 11 Big Sur will end on Jan 31, 2021. Any devices you have enrolled may be automatically removed from the Program when it ends. You may prefer to review these devices and remove them from the Program at a convenient time before the end date.

    The EAP remains open in order to ensure that robust testing and evaluation are in place in preparation for general availability. Please keep any Big Sur devices enrolled in the EAP so that your protection remains uninterrupted. We will share further updates as we approach release which is targeted for mid-late calendar Q1

    To answer your specific questions, if the EAP were to close, the endpoints would get placed back in the general pool and therefore be unprotected. The same for if you manually remove them from the program. This is not the case, however, as the EAP will run until Big Sur support is GA ready.
