can't install after uninstall

I had to uninstall sophos home beta and now i cannot reinstall it, i keep getting an error, i looked up the problem and for hours now i have been trying to fix this. there is supposedly a registry key you need to delete Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Installer.....         my registry does not have the key installer so i cannot keep going in the tree to delete the key they state is causing the install problem. i really don't know what to do, i have norton but want to use sophos home beta i find it fairly decent.

any help would be appreciated i thought i could do it myself with the help of google, no such luck........

  • Hello daniel gogol,

I'm pretty sure that HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\ exists otherwise a lot of things wouldn't work.
Furthermore please note that the key they state might change with the product version and you have to search for the (sub-)key(s) mentioned in your logs.
