'Mal/Iframe-F' was detected

I am running OpenSUSE 13.2 (32bit) on an Intel Pentium 4 based desktop computer with KDE version 4.14.9 desktop environment. I am using the Beta Home Edition of Sophos Free-AntiVirus for Linux and I recently downloaded two .pdf files from a web site, which the 'Mal/iframe-F' virus was detected in both of these .pdf files. I like to remove the virus from both of these .pdf files without deleting the files. I took the risk of loading both of these files into Acrobat 9 with savscan disabled and printing a new copy to hard disk in .pdf format, which seem to got rid of the 'mal/iframe-F' virus infection in both .pdf files. I re-enabled savscan and it doesn't detect the 'mal/iframe-f' virus in either .pdf file. I wanted to confirm that the 'mal/iframe-F' virus has no serious effect on Linux and I did in fact killed this virus on my Linux system? I did a savupdate successfully.

Thank you,

David A. Smith

    Hi David,

in this case I could only recommend you to delete your Linux and reinstall it.

Because you use an very old Linux, I could recommend you to install the newest version of Open-Suse Leap.

    Regards Meghan
