Problem with WLAN at Security advisor in Sophos mobile security

Hello,

I have a problem with the Security advisor in Sophos mobile security.

It shows me with WLAN security always that this point is uncertain, although I go over a secure WLAN, which is encrypted with WPS.

I have even installed a certificate, and this point is still uncertain.

What do I have to do to make sure this point is safe?

Thanks

Daniela

  • The "Wi-Fi Security" part of Security Advisor, it can be easily misinterpreted like I did on first glance.

If you click on the Wi-Fi security, it says that it indicates as insecure "Wi-Fi networks configured (whether or not connected right now) with no or WEP security".

So if you've ever connected to an open public network in the past OR connected to one with WEP security, it will indicate as insecure.

To get rid of it, you go to your Wi-Fi settings... Saved Networks, and delete/forget any any open public network with no encryption, AND/OR any private network with WEP encryption.

I didn't want to do either so I just live with Sophos definition of what Wi-Fi security means.

If the router that you have control over is using WEP encryption, I would suggest to move to the more secure WPA2 encryption.
