Auto-scan memory leak with Firefox

Bug overview:Mac OS memory leak when uploading by drag and drop a folder with files to Google drive via a Firefox browser

A step-by-step manual to reproduce the bug:

  1. Open Activity Monitor (in Utilities folder) and show the memory pane, sorted by memory size
  2. Using Firefox 53.0 (64-bit), go to drive.google.com, and drag from the Mac find a folder with a large number of files — I used 4 GB — to the browser window

Result: the Memory and Compressed memory grow to the point that the Mac runs out of memory, and the upload fails

Workarounds: If I turn off On-Access scanning, then memory only grows slightly, and the upload succeeds.

Why this is a problem: In Firefox, Google Drive site allows upload of files only via the New -> File Upload menu commands. It does not support folder uploads except by drag and drop
