Exclude a directory and all subdirectories

Question

I've been tried to get savscan (on ubuntu 16.04) to exclude a directory and all subdirectories (/mnt/.......). Nothing seems to work. I've search the forum and the web, to no avail. 
 I have tried savconfig: 
 add ExcludeFileOnGlob '/mnt/*' 
 add ExcludeFileOnGlob '/mnt/**' 
 add ExcludeFilePaths /mnt/ 
 but I still get hundreds of errors on scanning saying 
 Could not open /mnt/Tim....... 
 What am I doing wrong? How do I stop this?

Sorry. I had not appreciated that the on demand scans did not use the same exclusions as the on access scans (puzzling all the same). I now know how to do this (using command line exclusions)

 In my copy on access scanning configuration is on pages 35-7, and on-demand on pages 11-13

I didn't see any options in savl_9_cgeng.pdf, just the full scan command. 
 Here's where I found command line options for scans...
