2 separate computers, both windows 7 pro fully patched & updated
logged in as the real administrator
one had bitdefender antivirus free installed, the other had microsoft security essentials installed
both were uninstalled via the control panel first, then rebooted.
the one with bd av free ran the bd uninstaller tools from both normal windows boot and also safe mode, and rebooted
when installing sophos free for pc on both computers, the install fails. on one computer it says MSE is still installed. the other one says bd av free is still installed.
i have run ccleaner registry scan / fix on both, manually scrubbed the registry searching for "bitdefender" and anything else related. i can't see any services running for either product on either computer.
sophos will just not install.
any ideas? thanks for the help!
