No Shield Icon in toolbar

I have installed Sophos-Home on my iMac. iMac running MacOs Sierra.Sophos shows up in applications and online shows no alerts. Sophos last updated in November, 2015. There is no shield icon in the toolbar at top of screen. Is it really running? How do I update/scan?
