Checksum(s) for sav-linux-free-9.tgz download

Hello Sophos-Team,

could an official sophos representative please provide checksums for the linux download: "sav-linux-free-9.tgz".

This would be great, especially because the checksum I calculated, does not match with the checksum I found here in another/old thread. Now I hope, that you just updated the file without updating the thread.

Hello Simon,

Sophos (I'm not Sophos) usually doesn't publish checksums - as you should only download from the official site (HTTPS) and thus in the worst case the .tgz could be corrupted but not been tampered with.
You want it to be sure the archive is genuine?

thank you for your reply. I can undestand what you mean, but even when the "way-clicking-to-the-download" has been HTTPS secured, the download itself is just HTTP (at least for me).

.. so maybe somebody from Sophos can at least change the link to https?

but I would still prefer checksums. Hope, it will be possible.
