sophos blocking sites & won't uninstall

Open Activity Monitor, search for "Sophos" (be sure to view all processes, by default Activity Monitor won't show you background processes from the system). If you find something that says "SophosWebIntelligence" then yes its not uninstalled correctly. If you don't find that process then its definitely not filtering your web traffic.
