Issue Detected and Scan Apparently Not Completed

I've encountered a problem in that the scan gets approximately 75% complete when the message appears.  The "Last Scanned" date is not updated so I assume that the scan abended.  I've seen the video solution that indicates that I should click in the white area of the "Scan this Mac" box to see the log.  When I do this no log appears, only a box with the tabs "Scan Items", "Excluded Items", "Schedule", and "Options."  I'm running Home Edition 9.2.2, Threat Detection Engine 3.55.0, and Threat Data 5.09 on a MacBook Air.  Please help/advise.
