HELP PLEASE Do I have a virus??

HEllo

While using Chrome, the warning box with "SOPHOS anti virus is not running" came up.

I closed down and restarted and ran the scan but it only took a second and it said it was complete. 

I have attached a Skitch to show what the preferences shows,

Sorry I'm not very IT literate,,,as you can read.

Please help me if you can?

    Thanks for providing the screenshot, that's very helpful.

    You probably don't have a virus, but it looks like something has failed with the Sophos software. Here's some options on what you can do to fix it.

    Option 1: Restart your Mac 

    Option 2:  Uninstall / resintall Sophos (Try this f a restart does not fix the error)

    1. Browse to this page and download a new copy of the installer (Click "Get Started" and follow the prompts)

    2.  Use the "Remove Sophos Antivirus" app to uninstall. You will find this in finder under Applications > Remove Sophos Antivirus

    3. Restart your Mac

    4. Double-click the install app you downloaded in step 1 (The file is called savosx_he_r)

    5. Follow the on-screen prompts until the install is complete

    Hopefully that will get you back up and running, but if you have any questions don't hesitate to let us know!
