Sophos Home (free) failed to install properly on my OSX 10.9 notebook. Without realizing there was an uninstall, I removed the visible application and all associated files from my machine. It turns out that there were additional files at the root level that were not removed.
Now the application says its running, but it is not running properly. There is an icon in the menu bar with a drop down menu, but nothing happens when I click on any of the menu items. When I try to reinstall, the installer says that it can not go forward.
I have reviewed all of the information on this forum about using Terminal and using the uninstaller, but I am not able to uninstall the software. Please advise me as to how to remove the improperly working version of the software and how to install a working copy on my machine.
