unable to manually remove OSX/VSearch-A

Sophus is not removing OSX/Vsearch-A (there are actually two threats detected now OSX/Vsearch-A and OSX/Vsearch-D   see attached graphic).

I have followed the steps in the how to manually remove help files, but with no success.

I haven't "done" anything with the Volume  - see second graphic - am afradi to try ejecting it for fear somehting bad (worse?) might happen.

ANy thoughts on how to proceed would be most welcome.

thanks

John

  • Thanks brvx,

I did try manually trashing the files but the macbook would not allow it.

Instead I found through Finder that the files were attached to a setup file.

To get rid of the threat, this setup file has to be trashed and the setup exe file, dragged from the desktop and ejected through the trash.

A follow up scan of the computer showed that the threats (adware) had been removed after doing this.

    Cheers!
