AV datafile updates: how often?

Hi *!

I'm new to Sophos and run Sophos Antivir Free for Linux. I wonder how often signature updates are pushed?

The only update I received was at the date I installed the product:

Mon 10 Jun 2019 07:39:40 AM CEST: update.updated Updating from versions - SAV: 9.15.1, Engine: 3.74.2, Data: 5.55
Updating Virus Engine and Data
Mon 10 Jun 2019 07:39:40 AM CEST: update.updated Updated to versions - SAV: 9.15.1, Engine: 3.74.2, Data: 5.64

Is it normal not to receive any datafile updates, or am I missing something?

    Hello Peter Bauer1,

    first of all, updates aren't pushed but pulled. Normally automatic updating is enabled after install - you can check the settings with /opt/sophos-av/bin/savsetup, the default UpdatePeriodMinutes is 60. Every few checks (thus every few hours) you should see
    Updating SAVScan on-demand scanner
    Updating Virus Engine and Data
    Updating Manifest
    Update completed.
    This indicates a successful update with new definitions. The Data version (5.64) refers to the consolidated definition libraries that are updated monthly (and then the version changes).

    A piece of advice: Please do not post just snippets of logs based on the assumption that they substantiate a putative issue. I suppose you see the lines I've quoted above in the log - with  larger part of the log I could have been sure of my reply.
