Sophos freezes when attempting to update - needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled

Ever since updating to Sophos 9.4 and Mac OS 10.11.1, it seems I'm having an issue every time Sophos calls home to update.  The realtime scanner cannot come back on and I need to remove and reinstall the software.  If I attempt to launch the Sophos application, it hangs and either crashes or I need to force quit.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

    Hi Nick,

    Sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. Can you post the output of the Sophos Antivirus log from when a crash or hang like this occurs? You can access the log by opening Console > Sophos Antivirus Log.
