MAC for home edition takes ages to scan and pauses on DMG files

Hello,


I have two separate users on a MAC who have the same issues. One MAC is running mountain lion and every time a scan is run it will pause on DMG files. The same happens on a Macbook Pro running El Capitan, scans fine until it reaches a DMG file and hangs.


I see this a lot around the forums, is there a fix for this because it's really frustrating. I have also done a complete uninstall using the SAV removal tool and installed a fresh copy with no change.

    Same problem here. It hangs with the dmg file MacOffice2011wSP2_Dutch.dmg. When I removed this file, restarted the Mac, it hangs again and specifically on this file which is not even on my computer (as I removed it and it does no longer show up when searching with spotlight). I have no idea what to do
