During scan ,Sophos froze half way through the scan.( apple mac pro )

During scan ,Sophos froze half way through the scan.( apple mac pro ) Restarted etc but alway freezes at the same point - files remaining 586245 ds-local-backup.xar      Stop scan not working.   Laptop fan working overtime to keep cool !!   Have sent to trash and re installed but still having the same issue. Freezing at the same location.  OS X Yosemite 10.10.5      Any advise?

    Hi John,

    If it always freezes in the same place, you may want to consider adding an exclusion for the backups directory. You should also consider unchecking the "scan inside archives" option. The video below will show you how to do both of these things.
