Finding malware in hidden folders

When I first downloaded the free Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac, Quarantine Manager had a command option 'List in Finder'. This enabled the full file name to be displayed (which for long file names is no longer possible), and was invaluable when Sophos Anti-Virus was unable to clear a threat. The latest update of the software no longer has this command in Quarantine Manager, making it impossible to find a file in a hidden area of my Mac such as my user Library. My most recent scan found a threat in three hidden locations which the software could not clear. They are still there because I cannot find them in Finder. Please restore the List in Finder command. Thank you.

  • Hey Clive,

I think you should be able to find the info you're looking for in the scan logs. This video will walk you through finding the scan logs.

As for the feature you've asked about, I'm looking into why this was removed, and I'll let you know when I hear anything back.

    Cheers,
