Uninstalling 9.4

Question

I want to uninstall the 9.4 as I believe it may have been the Culprit preventing me updating two very different iMacs to El Capitan 
 There is a "Remove Sophos" App - does that truly remove all traces of 9.4?

The uninstall app should remove everything, but if you want to confirm you can check the following directories to make sure. 
 
/Library/Sophos Anti-Virus 
/Library/LaunchDaemos/com.sophos.* 
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.sophos.* 
/Library/Preferences/com.sophos.* 
/Library/Logs/Sophos Anti-Virus.log 
/Applications/Sophos Anti-Virus.app 
/Applications/Sophos Remove.app 
/var/db/receipts/com.sophos.*

If you really want to remove it from every nook and cranny of your Mac, then get FindAnyFile apps.tempel.org/.../ Search for "Sophos" and then option-click the Find button and authenticate at the prompt. This will allow you to search as deeply as possible in Root.
