version 9.4 not working

Hi all,

I've updated to V. 9.4 and nothing works. Read several comments and solutions ( 2 in Terminal ) and none worked.

I can't 'update' and the Scan is disabled. Sorry to say but this version is not that good guys.

The older version I had ( 9.2 ) worked fine and like a treat. So what's happened with 9.4 ?

I've un-installed it twice, re-started my Macbook Air , zero

Any wonderful ideas out there ?

  • I have found a solution folks to 9.4 issue.
    This is what I did.
I have my HD showing on the desktop
Double click on it and it opens to what ever you have set show first, which is fine.
Top right you should see 'search box' - type in 'sophos' , hit enter.
It will give you a list of everything associated with sophos ( or should do )
If you click on a file for example it should show you the path to where ever this file is at the bottom Example: Mac HD - User - your name - Library - Cache - Com.sophos.sau

If you don't see the 'com.sophos.sau' just search for 'com.sophos' as well, there should be a couple of files/folders which show up.

What you need to do, is find 'all' these files & Folders and then delete ( empty trash ).
If some won't delete, just stop the operation but leave in the trash bin.
Once you have found everything and placed in the trash bin, re-start the computer.
Then go to Empty - empty.
Down load the latest version of Sophos ( 9.4 ) and install, this should work fine and you can even do the 'Update' and if you open Pref's you will see the Green dot 'The on-access scanner is on'

This worked for me so I hope it will for all of you out there.
