I am not receiving the confirmation email.

Hey,

I was working on downloading the free sophos anti virus, I need it in order to connect to my school VPN. However, after creating my account, I was told to verify through the confirmation email. I checked my spam, I checked my school email (no idea why it would link to that either) and I have tried to resend the confirmation email. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the computer I''m on. I just bought a new Mac with the high Sierra software. 

Any help is appreciated.

    are you talking about Sophos Home (here's the older version of the article). It shouldn't have anything to do with the computer you're using.

    I believe it is the Sophos Home. I have had the email resent multiple times already. The only thing I can think of now is maybe it's on my end of the email. I'm using an @icloud.com email address. I'm thinking maybe it's in the privacy settings possibly not allowing the email to come thru.

    I am having the exact same problem, when I use the @me.com address which is also part of icloud. I have a gmail account and which I have had to register and the email came through instantly. May need to contact Apple??

  • exact same problem with me using Sophos Home, iCloud account and High Sierra. Does anyone have a solution yet????

  • KeithCressman, What I ended up doing was using my school email. It went through right away. I haven't bothered trying the iCloud email again. The only thing I can think is iCloud doesn't allow certain emails to come through due to some new security settings with the high Sierra. That's the only conclusion I could come up with from doing some reading. Otherwise it's a problem on the sophos side of things. I guess create a throwaway email just for this to get it downloaded on your computer.
  • Yes, not using an iCloud account certainly seems to be the solution. I used my gmail account and the confirmation email arrived immediately. 

    If anyone from Sophos is looking at this thread, it would be nice if you could note somewhere in the registration process that iCloud accounts may not work properly for receiving confirmation email. This would save a lot of aggravation and time lost by some users, and reduce negative opinions from developing about Sophos!
