New 9.4 build published today

Hello everyone,

We published a new build of 9.4 today (its still called 9.4.0) that will now upgrade all existing 9.2 endpoints to 9.4. This update makes everyone compatible with the upcoming release of Mac OS X El Capitan next week.

Thanks to everyone who installed the 9.4 Preview, much appreciate the enthusiastic support and feedback. As of yesterday we had nearly 31 thousand unique installations with more than 1500 of them running on the El Capitan pre-release. Pretty amazing uptake.

  • Thanks very much for announcing this. I just got notified by my Folder Actions script of new com.sophos.common.servicemanager and com.sophos.uiserver .plist's and noticed a new icon for Sophos in the Applications folder. Since the version didn't change I was getting a bit worried. ;-)
  • 9.4 appears to have taken away the "Show in Finder" button in Quarantine Manager. That was essential to manual cleanup - chasing even a couple of dozen items by reading their long path names to locate increases cleanup time severalfold. Please restore! Or if it's been moved, please let me know where it is now.

    Thanks,
    Allen
  • If you hover your mouse pointer over the filename there is a little arrow icon to click. Its the same as Reveal in Finder as before.
