Cloning drives with Safeguard Disk Encryption - Workstation is locked! Perform Challenge/Response to unlock

After "successfully" cloning using Acronis TrueImage 2018 bootable media (sector by sector), the computer boots up to the SafeGuard screen which now reads: Workstation is locked! Perform Challenge/Response to unlock.   Both the source drive and newly cloned target drive present the locked workstation Safeguard message.

1) Does Sophos SafeGuard automatically trigger this lock/challenge response?

2) If the computer is an off net computer (past 90 days from being on any network) is it impossible to get this drive past the locked safeguard screen? I am not interested in the data on the drive but I would like to know if I need to re-install the OS or is this drive unlock-able? Desktop Support states that it is impossible to unlock an off network computer.

    Hi PntV,

There are numerous protection mechanisms built into SafeGuard to prevent any kind of data theft, any suspected "tampering" with a device or it's hardware will cause the machine to lock up and request a challenge/response or recovery for reauthentication.

Regarding the second point, ask the Desktop Support team of they've configured a Machine Settings policy and denied access to machines that haven't connected in for 90 days, that would prevent the machine from getting through POA.
Depending on what has happened with that machine you should be able to perform a challenge/response with the server
