Local administrator account password change has not replicated with SafeGuard?

I have recently changed all of our local admin account passwords in our organisation using a batch script and net user command. (I will be adding this change into group policy and retiring the script)

This password change has been successful; however the password change has not been replicated with Sophos SafeGuard.

What is the quickest and easiest way to update these sorts of passwords?

Thanks,

John

  • If your changing password using a script then the service that monitors changes to the local administrator password will not pick up the change.

You can change the passwords centrally in the Safeguard Management Center by right clicking on the user, clicking the certificate tab, deleting the certificate by pressing CTRL + D, then creating a new one by pressing "Add Certificate" in the tool bar.

You will then be asked to enter a new password.

Someone on the laptop will need to log on and synchronise the change to the endpoint before the change will take effect though.

  • Thank you, but unfortunately we are currently  unable to centrally manage our laptops using Safeguard Management Center due to some limitations / restrictions within our network.

Is their any other way of doing this?
