Can safeguard on machines that are not in AD?

We're thinking of removing macs from binding to AD and I was wondering if we can still use Safeguard on our macs? We're going going Jamf and it doesn't make sense to bind with AD once we have Jamf and apple enterprise connect in place. once we unbind the machines, machines won't be showing up in Safeguard, How would encryption work on current machines and new machines?

Thanks

  • Yes you can, but I would create a Workgroup within the Sophos console to help manage and organise them. There's a bit more leg work in terms of users on the devices - you may have "Michael" as a user on more than one device that isn't necessarily the same user! Obviously user management with AD would be easier, but it's not necessary.
