SGN Question

Hi,

I am newbie in Sophos SGN product. please excuse for my stupid questions.

1. I will be implementing full disk encryption and will disable the POA feature. Since the endpoint doesnt have a keyboard. i want to bypass any user authenication like username password. is these possible? if yes, how? Are there ways to login using finger print or usb token?

2. Able to encrypt my laptop however, in bootting up i experience error. "path/file cant be read". if POA is enable error wont show up. but if i disable POA error will appear. any advice on this error?

ANy advice is appreciated.

  • Hi Apollo13,

1/ You can either disable the SafeGuard Enterprise Power-on Authentication on the Clients using a "Specific Machine Settings" policy which has to be applied to the specific SafeGuard Enterprise Clients OR you can configure a policy to allow Fingerprint authentication ("Authentication" policy -> "Logon mode" -> "Fingerprint") to the Power-on Authentication - just make sure that the machine is equipped with a supported Fingerprint reader.

2/ I haven't seen this before - which version of Safeguard are you running on which make/model of machine?

    Regards,
    Chris
