Sophos Safegaurd easy version 6.0 latest issues on Dell XT3 Tablet running XP Tablet edition 2005

We have 3 systems in our organization that were purchased brand new and I have installed SGE on all three and they all replicate the same issue.

-imaged system with XP Tablet ed 2005

-ADD to AD

-Install SGE

-perform first initial log in after install and POA enable

-log in works

-system then forcefully shuts down.

-system is rebooted

-SGE POA screen attempts auto login and then goes to challenge screen with no AD to use for creds.

Tried to do a SGN rollback but we are using Legacy settings for SATA (ATA) so its almost impossible to roll back the install. In safe mode it does the same thing logs in and then logs out. Could this be something that is specific to XT3 series tablet? we have it deployed on other systems running XP Pro SP3 with no issues. is it a compatibility issue with XP Tablet ed 2005?

Any help would be appreciated I am getting held to the flame on this one by my upper management.

  • I have actually solved my own issue. And the resolution is becoming a popular trend among my many issues mostly with software incompatabilities.

If I install SG encryption before I install any other software the encryption works and there is nothing else I need to do. I find that in most of our issues in our organization when handling OS corruption situations.

I was not fully aware and I think others should be too if not already aware that Sophos is very "sensitive" to various programs. of course QA cannot cover everything out there... but in a medical enviroment there is alot of dynamic variables that seem to disturb the successful outcome of sophos when encrypting or passing GINA cerdentials while in XP. Most of the situations seem to come from working in a XP enviroment. Windows 7 has yet to show much issue but our testing is limited as we are not fully deployed.
