SafeGuard Server for Offsite management of laptops

I'm fairly new to taking over our Sophos environment and was able to upgrade successfully from 7.00 to 8.02. But I'm wanting to know how I can allow management of our devices that come and go off network? With Enterprise Console I found instructions on how to setup a Relay server and SUM server in our DMZ with split DNS and it's working great, but I can't find documentation of how to do this with SafeGuard.

Any help and guidance is appreciated.

Thank

Matt

  • Hi Matt,

we are running such a configuration.

Setup a secondary Safeguard server in the DMZ. This server must be reachable over the public Internet. It uses the same SQL database as your primary server.

Then create a new Client Configuration Package in Management Center. This package has to include primary and secondary server. Deploy this new package to all your Safeguard clients.

When a client is outside the company network and can't reach your primary server, it will fall back automatically to the secondary server.

    Regards,
