Data Execution Prevention

We are currently running Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit and SGN 6.00.1 and we were wondering if enabling Data Execution Prevention will cause any compatibility issues with SGN? We've been turning DEP off in the BIOS in the past with Win XP and our previous encryption product and have been keeping it off as a force of habit. Our security team states that we should be turning it on for Win 7 and wanted to find out if others seen any issues with keeping it enabled with SGN.

  • Hi rex,

we've had a bit of trouble with the legacy encryption product (SafeGuard Easy 4.x) when Data Execution Prevention was introduced with Windows XP's Service Pack 2, but I have not seen any issues so far with SafeGuard 5.x / 6.x in combination with hardware or software enforced Data Execution Prevention.

    Cheers,

    Chris
