  • Good afternoon,

As part of a directory sync you can have SafeGuard automatically create keys for certain objects. If there is a great number of these objects synchronization can take some time. You can disable the automatic creation of keys via Tools>Options>Keys as shown below.

Also if your AD is a bit "messy" with deeply nested groups, i.e. deeper than four levels, this can slow down any AD sync.

    Regards.

  • Hi Jacob,

Following Neils advice, you are really going to want to upgrade SafeGuard from 5.60 to at least 6.10, preferably 7.

6.10 contained a number of backend optimizations to improve performance on all fronts for the server software, while 7 has a lot

of bugs/improvements completed as well as full Windows 8.1 compatibility.

As well, support for 5.60 officially stops at the end of March this year, so any calls into support for 5.60 would be handled on a best-effort case at most.

  • Hi Jacob,

I had this problem too but on 6.1

Seems the service account we used didn't have full read access to all of AD and caused management center to be slow and unresponsive after the 40% mark.

Try using another account, perhaps with domain admin privileges to test. https://sophos.com/kb/107979 might help you
