SGPortable

Were having trouble using the SGPortable utility.  When I try to encrypt a file I get a message that states "It is not allowed to create new keys on systems where SafeGuard enterprise is installed."

what do I need to do to fix this.

  • Hello Troy,

Is this problem only showing on 1 computer with Safeguard encryption client installed or this is also the case on the other SGN encrypted computers?

The SGPortable is part of the Safguard Data Exchange feature and the Policy item is Device Protection>encrypt removable media. On this

policy the media encryption mode should be set to File Based and the encryption key to be used is usually being set to Any key in the users key ring.

You can also test to manually encrypt a file save on a usb removable media, right click file and select file encryption>start encryption. See if the safeguard

would give you the same message.
