User forgets password and is working remotely

What is the best practice for when a user forgets their password and is working remotely? After logging in with a Recovery code, how could they log into Windows and synchronize a new Sophos certificate?

    Hello Dee,

    Ideally they will have Local Self Help (LSH) enabled and they can get into their machine without troubling the IT staff.
    Failing that the Web Helpdesk (WHD) can allow them to get in, again without troubling the IT staff.

    Failing that if they have VPN access they can get into Windows with a password reset from AD, they'll get asked for their "Old Password" but they can just follow this process community.sophos.com/.../112239
