SafeGuard on endpoint machines.

I have a test machine with SafeGuard encryption installed on it. Does it have to be connected to a SafeGuard server as the machine doesn't seem to be encrypting anythig on it's own.

Thank you.

  • I found that you need to apply a Configuration to the install before it will do anything with/without a server. You can go to the Tools -> Configuration Package Tool and then generate a Managed or Standalone one depending on your goals. If it will be talking with a server, then a managed one is for you.  After you create it you will get an install package that you apply to the machine and then it will reboot. After that it should apply the policy group you exported in the package. That policy group is how you can tell it to encrypt right after the install.
