SafeGuard installed but doesn't encrypt/activate POA

Hi, we have a brand new Dell Precision 7510 with Win 7 Professional 64 bit and a 250Gb SSD.

I managed to install the SafeGuard software as usual, and after installing the config package rebooted/logged into Windows again as normal.

At this point, I was expecting it to start the encryption of the disk, but nothing happens.

All policies and keys are correct, and the machine shows in the console as epxected, but the c: hasn't encrypted, and if I reboot, I don't get the POA screens but just go straight to the Windows Ctrl-Alt-Del screen.

so, my questions are:

how can I start the encryption manually?

how do I get POA page to start before Windows?

I have uninstalled/reinstalled a couple of times as per other forum solutions I found, but still get the same thing each time...

thanks

    Hello,

Are you logging in through the SafeGuard tile?

Is your device protection policy correct and applied to the OU of that machine? What does the RSOP say?

  • Hello Toby

From an AD point of view, the machine is in the correct OU and has all our standard group policies applied - is there anything specific in the gpresult output you're looking for?

Does 'SafeGuard tile' mean the Windows 7 login - the picture has changed to the SafeGuard icon if that's what you mean...

    thanks
