Will users have option to Encrypt the partitions using Safeguard client

We have a requirement, will users have option to encrypt the partitions manually like right click on the drives and Encrypt

or

Is there any option in Safeguard client where users select the partitions and encrypt.

    Hello Sunil,

Good question - this isn't something that's handled at a user level, the policies applied to the machine specify whether a hard drive should be encrypted or not. However, if you do want to give your users some measure of control you can allow them to decrypt the drive by setting the Device Protection policy to User may decrypt volume = Yes. Once a drive has been decrypted the user will be able to manually re-enable the encryption if they so wish.

  • Thanks for the reply Toby.

Not sure if you got my question correctly. I am looking an option where logged on User can start the Encryption Manually by right click on the partition and start Encrypt.

Something like Ex: C partion, right click and start Safeguard Encryption.

Or any other option in safeguard client on the machine to select the partition and start the encryption manually,

We want to give users the flexibility to start the encryption on their own rather than the safeguard policy automatically starts the encryption.

  • Hello Sunil,

    Thanks for the follow up.

Your question makes perfect sense, but unfortunately (as above) that is is the only option available.
