Major System Slow Downs after Safeguard Installation?

Hello. A week or so ago we installed Sophos Safeguard Encryption on 5 of our company laptops. Since then, every user has told us that their laptop is now running much much slower. In a couple of instances even locking up completely and requiring a full shutdown and restart to get things moving. We installed version 7.0 on these clients.

As far as policies go we really only have the standard ones in place. The machines that experiencing this problem are listed below. Is there something we didn't do or that we need to do? We are also running Kaspersky Endpoint Anti-virus and never had this slowdown issue prior to the Safeguard install.

Machine models:

Latitude E4300

Precision M4600

Latitude E6410

Latitude E5500

    Hello All Technology,

I'd recommend using the BitLocker encryption with SafeGuard where you can as you don't get the POA issues.
Have you added the SafeGuard folder as an exemption for scanning in the Kaspersky Endpoint Anti-virus? Also is that the endpoint addition with the AES Encryption module? If so you shouldn't be running two encryption programs on the same machine, any crossovers for encryption will cause some serious performance hits.

I'd also recommend checking out the Hotkeys and POA KB article, this resolves most issues with slow boot times and startup issues:

Please let me know how you get on.
