Issues getting to POA on Folio 9480m

We previously used the 9470m's until they were discontinued and now using the 9480m. After installing the encrpytion it requires the machine to be rebooted several times to actually get to the POA screen. It boots and just hangs at the various screens before it gets there. Tried changing all kinds of things in the BIOS. I tried the shift F6 thing to no avail. Any other suggestions?

    Hi indiez,

    which version of SafeGuard Device Encryption are you running on the HP 9480m? If you haven't tried already, I'd recommend to try the newest release of SafeGuard Device Encryption Client, which would be version 7.

    If that shows the same issue, check the BIOS setting for "Fast Boot" and set it to disabled and apply the following POA hotkeys (one per boot process): Knowledge Base; SafeGuard Device Encryption: Hotkeys and the POA


    - try Shift+F6 to change ATA-Compatibility mode
    - try Shift+F9 to toggle ACPI/APIC mode setting

    Please let us know if this resolves the boot issue.
