How can we encrypt a machine but allow users to login without knowing the POA credentials?

Toby_DataEncryption, another question for you. We have laptops that are spares to be issued to any domain user as the need arises. How can we encrypt the machine and still allow end users to login as themselves without having to know the machine owner's user name and password at the POA screen?

    Hi CB Network Admin,

Unfortunately they would need to know the POA user details to boot the machine, though if you wanted to use machines in this manner you could just turn off the POA.

If you wanted to keep using the POA and use machines in this fashion I would recommend setting up a generic POA account used by all machines, it's not very secure as any user can boot any machine but it sounds like what you're trying to achieve.

Providing you have a Machine Settings policy that allows registration to the UMA for everybody these additional users will be able to logon to the machine at Windows with their domain credentials and be granted access to the POA with the same credentials the next time they reboot.
