Having a weird issue with Safeguard 5.61.0 and certain HP docking stations

Hey guys,

First time poster hoping that someone could help me out.

I'm having an issue with one laptop in particular as the rest don't exhibit this problem, basically what happens is that if you boot the laptop up while it is docked it will stay on a white safeguard screen indefinitely until you hard reset the laptop, however if you remove it from the docking station and boot up again it goes through fine, no issue at all. I haven't tried the POA hotkeys yet but I wouldn't be sure if that would be a fix, just wanted confirmation first, the laptop is a HP probook 6545b if that helps.

If you need more info just let me know

J

    Hello J,

Shift + F7 often solves this (toggle USB 2.0) but you might need to go through all the hotkeys before you find a solution that works for you: www.sophos.com/.../107781.aspx

It's strange it's only on this one machine, is there anything different about the setup with this one?
Have you tried upgrading the drivers for the docking station direct with the manufacturer?

It's also worth mentioning that 5.61 is being retired in 8 weeks so it would be worth looking to move to the full version of SafeGuard Enterprise if you haven't already.

Hope that helps J, let me know how you get on and best of luck with it.
