Unable to boot / decrypt

I was running a version of safeguard (probably 6) on my MBA (10.8), I could not access the disk management to decrypt the laptop but tried running the purge uninstaller thinking it would trick the software to begin decryption, after installing then restarting I no longer see the authentication window but it also does not detect my boot partition

I can connect the laptop to another and can see the drive in disk utility but the partition is not recognised and not mounted, it cannot be repaired (presumably because it thinks its still encrypted

I've tried the target disk tool but it does not recognise the partition, I've tried reinstalling Safeguard 6 but it does not recognise the partition

I did create a recovery login when encrypting, I can boot from but it does not recognise the recovery password

From the troubleshooting menu, I if try authentication data, the admin username/password is not recognised, if I choose decrypt partition is say's no encrypted partition found

The log states:

Starting Sophos Safeguard (R) sgbiodrv 06.01.00.0001...

sgGetNvStorage: primary blob signature check failed

sgGetNvStorage: backupblob signature check failed

Uninstall finished

Trying to boot plain system partition

What else can I try? thx
