Partition alignment and SafeGuard

Hi all,

we're using SafeGuard Enterprise 6 for encrypting our company notebooks' SSDs completely. Now I detected that the partition is misaligned (starting at sector 63).

Which way is the easiest to realign the partition?

Thanks and regards

  • Hi Encrypt0r,

the re-alignment might work but it has not been officially tested.

In general, resizing any partition on a machine where SafeGuard Volume Based Encryption is installed is not supported as the partition table should not be changed. As an partition alignment is also a form of resize (acutally more like a move), I would not recommend to align the partition while SafeGuard Enterprise is installed / the disk is encrypted.

    Regards,

    Chris
