AD Account Name Changed

Hi All,

We changed the account name of one of our users from AD, the user logged in with the new user and the Safeguard console does not recognize the user is changed it created a new user and assigned a self-reg key.

now the user is unable to see his data because it's encrypted using his old key.

any idea?

  • Open the Safeguard Management Center, find the new username in the "users and Computers" tab, click on the key tab, search for the key for the old account and drag it to the key pane on the right. Save, get the user to synchronise and restart their laptop.

    They should now have their old key in the key ring and will be able to access their old files.
