We recently purchased Sophos SafeGuard Enterprise mainly for the File Encryption feature. We've set 2 folders up in a test policy; 1 in <UserProfile>\Documents\SECURED and another on a file share \\server\share.
After applying the policy to the users and noticing everything seems to encrypt fine after running Encrypt according to policy, I noticed a couple of things.
The local drive has the little key symbol on the SECURED folder and encrypts any file/folder within the folder automatically. The network share neither has the little key symbol, nor does it auto-encrypt files/folders, I am force to right click on computer and select Encrypt according to policy option. If I do that everything in the folder encrypts (still no little key symbol on the defined network folder in the policy) but anything created after that stays unencrypted until I do it again.
Is this normal behaviour?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
