SafeGuard Data Exchange - VMWare View and WIndows 7 Credential Provider

We have users that connect to Windows 7 VDIs using Wyse P20 thin clients and VMWare View.  What they are wanting to do is use a USB drive that is plugged in to the thin client.  The issue is with the credential provider in Windows 7.

It seems VMWare view chooses by default the non-Sophos credential provider, so the user is presented with a Sophos login window after logging in to Windows.  If I use group policy to eliminate all but the Sophos credential provider, the user must log in twice.  Once to VMWare View and then again to Windows 7.  Maybe this is a question better suited to VMWare, but do you know of a way to have VMWare View choose the Sophos credential provider by default?

  • That simply isn't going to work, there are significant software engineering challenges and isn't supported right now, you might be able to get SOME integration but there are things that simply won't work correctly.  You will want to talk to your sales rep and have him talk to the SafeGuard product manager to get the status of any development on this.
