Re-protect Safeguard encrypted endpoint

Hi,

We are in the process of moving endpoints from an old SEC server we wish to retire in our former domain to a new one. All of this is going relatively smoothly except encrypted enpoints (laptops), which once re-protected just show a 'Comparison Failure' status. I cannot seem to find a process that covers a procedure for this, do I need to export/import a key to the new SEC instance? Or do I need to go through the process of decrypting these endpoints and starting from scratch?

Appreciate any help from someone who may have had to do something similiar.

Thanks!

  • We had done this earlier in our expiriences with a migration. Importing the Key can be possible but its not %100 certain it will work. I didn't chance the situation and had the encryption rolled back out to the systems following the process of decrypting and then encrypting the endpoints again. that process was smooth obviously for the fact that it was hitting the new server with a fresh install. I believe the Keys are very specific to the server... not totally sure hopefully there is more feedback in regards to a importing solution.

I would recommend contacting support in regards to this situation to get a definite solution 888-SOPHOS-9 or support@sophos.com
