SGN 6.10 - Force sync /w command line

Hi all,

I'm searching for a possibility to initiate a sync client <-> server (like doubleclick on sgn-icon or right-click -> "sync") by command line.

We have numerous users, who connect almost only via vpn connection and only for a short period (mail collect...).

So during the first try of the client to connect to the sgn server after boot, there usually isn't an established vpn tunnel, yet and at the point the next try is initiated, the connection is already closed.

This leads into various problems, from old policies to password out of sync matters.

Our vpn client is able to start a defined programm on connecting, but this is only in user context.

So the only version i'm aware of (restarting sgn transportation service) isn't an option due to missing user rights.

But since the manual sync via task-icon is possible with normal user rights, there should be a possibility via command line either, no?

Any help is appreciated, thx in advance

Ralf

  • Hi Ralf,

although administrative permissions are required as well, you have the possibility to use the SafeGuard Command Interpreter (located at C:\Windows\SysWoW64\SGMCmdIntn.exe) with the -s (-sync) command.

If you want to initiate a sync with user rights, this is limited to double clicking the tray icon / selecting "Synchronize" from the tray icon.

Side note: If users are dialed in to the VPN and have to change their password, the Safeguard Client immediately synchronizes with the SafeGuard Server after a password change - no user interaction required.
