Hello,
on my laptop is SG Easy installed. After connecting a usb-device, Sophos encrypts the stick automatically. I want to disable this function. What is to do?

Hi Tim,
depending on which product version you're running, disabling the encryption of removable drives has to be performed differently:
For version 4.x, open the SafeGuard Easy Administration and logon with an privileged account. Go to the encryption tab, select "Removable" and disable the encryption for Removable drives.
Please see SafeGuard Easy Manual chapter 11 "Encryption" for details
For version 5.x/6.x, please contact your IT Staff (Administrator / Security Officer) and ask to disable the encryption for Removable Media on your machine. If you have Administrative / Security Officer access to the SafeGuard Environment, open the SafeGuard Policy Editor and open the "Policy" tab. Select the Encryption Policy and change the target for encryption (i.e. remove "Removable Media" as a target).
Save the policy and create a new Client Configuration package. Install the new Client Configuration package on your machine to apply the policies.
Please see SafeGuard Policy Editor Admin Help manual (ssg_60_h_eng_admin_help.pdf) chapter 13. "Policy Settings" -> 13.8 "Device Protection" for details.
Hope that Helps.
Regards,
Chris
